Aug-Sept: Trial and content update, Dementia Action Week…

CARER trial extension

At My Dementia Companion, our passion is improving care for those impacted by dementia, and we take co-design seriously. We value your feedback and are always looking for ways to better support you.

My Dementia Companion 60 days/2 months free trial

We know people living with dementia and their carers are busy, because many of our volunteers are carers. After internal discussions and conversations with our users, we’ve decided to extend the free trial for the CARER tool from 30 days to 2 months!

This gives you more time to explore all our valuable resources and features, while managing your busy schedule. If your original 30-day trial has expired and you'd like to extend, simply reach out to us.

Content update

  • New Section on ‘Crying, yelling or calling out’

  • Updated resources for ‘Planning to move into aged care home’ including how to have a conversation

  • All Enabling Environment resources from Alzheimer’s WA are currently offline. We have contacted them and hope to have them back soon

  • We have been doing a comprehensive simplification process for our video resources - watch this space in the coming weeks.

You can explore these Section by searching for related keywords.

Featured tip

This a PRO Tip which also applies to everyone on assistive technology, aids and equipment. Whilst simple, many of us forget and assume that new technology can solve all of our problems. But they only work if we work with it!

“I have seen so many clever inventions in aged care in my 20-year career. The biggest flaw is that people don’t wear them. So make sure before your client goes out and purchases any aids, make sure they will use them.”

All Sections on assistive technology, aids and equipment are included in relevant Topics, such as walking, hearing, memory etc. Please remember that they are only as good as they are used and used correctly!
