For blog post 2, I thought I take out some time to celebrate our achievements so far. It has been a huge year for the My Dementia Companion team, which is consist of a group of passionate volunteers who just wanted to improve the way we support those impacted by dementia.
Over the past 8 months, we have worked day and night to accomplish so much, including:
having curated almost 400 Sections of support information and ~200 practical Tips from carers
finished building our "world-first" support platform
launched our pilot with a special announcement from the federal Department of Health!
almost finished our Stage 1 pilot with the help of so many kind supporters (click here for a full list of those lovely people)
presented our poster at the International Dementia Conference
signed up hundreds of pilot participants within the first week
received many kind messages of positive feedback and support, such as "why didn't we have this year?"
and of course, received feedback on bugs and issues, which we are madly trying to fix.
"Why didn't we have this earlier?"
I just wanted to say a big thanks to the team and supporters for your altruistic dedication, the Department of Health for your great support and our early pilot participants for your kind encouragement! This makes it all worthwhile and we shall look up from our late nights to celebrate it.
